Juneteenth Was Always Ours
Juneteenth Was Always Ours
Before Juneteenth was a federal holiday, it was a backyard celebration full of pride, stories, and soul food.
I remember being a kid, barefoot on the grass, listening to my grandfather tell us how freedom didn’t come easy—or fast. “We were the last to know,” he’d say, “but we were never the least.” That hit different as I got older.
Our family didn’t wait for permission to celebrate. We honored Juneteenth with music, history lessons disguised as storytelling, red velvet cake, and homemade flags. It wasn’t just a day off—it was a reminder of how far we’d come and how far we still had to go.
At Liberated Eyewear, we carry that same legacy. Every pair of glasses we design is more than just a fashion statement—it’s a symbol of vision, resilience, and cultural pride. Liberation isn’t something we wait for. It’s something we live, design, and build—daily.
This Juneteenth, we’re not just remembering freedom delayed—we’re honoring the fight, the joy, and the vision it takes to protect it.
Because freedom didn’t come easy. And it’s still not free.
